Question by Haywood Jablomee: Is the “war on drugs” worth fighting?
Since the Reagan administration implemented the “war on drugs” we’ve put million of people in jail yet drugs are still just as easy to get. Is it just me or does it seem that organized crime and prison unions are the only ones benefiting from such policies? Did you know that California pays $ 46K a yr to house a single inmate? Could this be part of the states financial problem?
I just think its sad that we’d sooner pay to incapacitate people rather than educate them.

Sure it is. But we’re doing it wrong.
I don’t care about pot.
But coke, crack, heroin, or meth make me insanely angry.
Want to stop these addictions and and win the war on drugs at the same time?
Execute high level dealers/suppliers; and give mandatory extremely long sentences for mid and street level dealers.
Users can get therapy, but eliminate the dealers.
I know new ones will pop up, but keep giving them the same welcome, and there won’t be so many.
