Question by cdn24fan: When will Nicklas Lidstrom retire?
He is still one of the dominant D-men in the game but he is in the last year of his contract, he will be 40 yrs old at the end of this contract, he has won everything there is to win ( stanley Cups, world championships, olympic Gold, Norris trophies and a Conn Smythe) and he probably has more money than his grand-kids can spend.
Do you think he is a player who will hang on until the bitter end or will he retire at or near the top of his game. He will play in these Olympics but then the next ones are a long ways away, do you see him retiring after this year or soon.
Bonus Question, How about Scott Neidermayer, a couple of years younger but pretty much the same scenario.

He will retire in Detroit when his contract runs up. I think that’s after this season or next.
